When you're *really* tired, you can sleep anywhere, and in any position... This one doesn't look particularly comfy to me, but Jac seemed not to notice.

Peeking...
While her mother thought I was nuts for taking photos in the restroom--I honestly couldn't resist...
And a bonus shot of Jac basking in the cushiness of the new car:

Dirt Ties...
When I went to my last event as an Outlander, my apprentices and friends got together and made me this gift. It has soil from each of their homes, and some of the sacred Caer Galen dirt (which has ashes from each of the hearths of CG at camping events). On the outside it says:
"It is a tradition, when you leave a place for travels, you take a bit of the earth from that place. The earth will always make it's way back home safely and so to do we want you to always make your way back to us safely."
It lives above my TV, along with the three Anglo-Saxon books that didn't go into storage when I put all my books in storage: Wordcraft, Dress in Anglo-Saxon England, and North European Textiles. Oh, and my Firefly boxed set. :o)

New Specs...
Finally, new glasses...
(I've only been working on it since April, which, because of this blog, I can document almost precisely. BTW, this pair is not one of those previously tested. I picked them out by myself, all on my own, etc.—but there is a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. ;-) )

Rainbow Brite
When you get messy while eating ice cream on a June day in KS, your mom *might* just tell you to wash up in the sprinklers...

Accidental Angles
Took this by accident while I was working with my phone this morning (sending myself pics). I kinda like it... My duck, my rock, my buckeye, and a really interesting angle on my keyboard.
[Ed: I'm coming up on day 150 of this project, and my motivation is flagging... As you can tell by the length of time it's taken me to get photos up this week. It's been fun, and I'm still finding interesting things to photograph--at least some of the time ;-) --and I think that I'll really enjoy looking back at this at some point, but my own self-gratification isn't enough right now... So, if there's anyone out there, a comment or two on whether or not I should keep going would be helpful. Thanks... :) ]

Shrekish Goodness
Left my phone at home today. Got back to it around 11:30 pm after fighter practice and supper... So, here's one of my favorite silly things. This was part of the marketing for the first Shrek movie. What could be better than a soap dispenser where the soap comes out of an ogre's ear? It makes me giggle every time. :) I've had it for a long time and keep meaning to refill it cuz the "green apple slime" fragrance just doesn't do it for me.

Feeling "Pure"
Nothing exciting done today, just home to actually unpack my car after Lilies. Here's my garage, looking all clean and organized. You may now pause to be impressed... ;-)

Fuschia Defined
A flower just outside Khaentlahn's house--verrry deep color (and me in my sunflower dress, which I love).

Tongue-tastic...
At Texas Roadhouse there's this cinnamon butter that's just too good to leave on your face. (And if you can get someone to reapply it, why would you want to eat the bread when you can just lick the butter off?)
And after her mom tried to get her to touch her nose with her tongue.

Leaving Lilies...
The progression of the far hill packing up:
I love the sunlight in the second one, and the kites in the third.

Utlaaaaaaands...
Here's a look at the Outlands camp from a couple of directions. I spent some of Saturday sitting in their camp watching the fighting.
I never take pictures of war fighting. I just feel like you can't capture the magic of it on film (or, y'know, memory stick). You take a picture you think is interesting, but when you look at it later, it just looks like a bunch of guys milling around in armor with some sticks covered in duct tape. :)
And here is one titled: "Outlands camp, with barrel." It's one of my favorites (I really like the soft refracted lighting), except for the big ol' blue trash barrel.

The View from my Tent
This is the view from my tent at Lilies. The tents you can see are Luther's on the left and TRMs of Gleann Abhann on the right. If I looked out another direction, I could see Agamemnon's and Murdoch and Emelye's.
Rivkah and I camped together, and I think I freaked her out a bit because I wanted to leave the doors to my tent open at night. It gets a *little* cooler at night at Lilies, and sometimes there are storms that warrant tying the tent closed tight, but I love to lay in the tent and look out at the water while a little breeze blows through. Sometimes you can see the stars, and even I sometimes watch the sky go from dark to gray to pink. *sigh*
I have a "tradition" as I'm driving up to Lilies that I started a *long* time ago of playing SCA songs when I make the last turn off of the interstate until I get to site. I was having some trouble getting excited about Lilies this year, but as I got closer and closer to site, I got more and more excited (and drove a little faster, as those who were in my car with me can attest). Even though there are always hot hot *hot* miserable days at Lilies, I always want to go back and wish I were there.
[Ed: I was at Lilies from Thursday night (6/14) until Sunday afternoon (6/17). I made a choice not to carry my phone around and take pictures, so all of these were taken on day 3. Though they are of things/pictures that I saw/framed in my head the other days, they technically break my "picture taken on the day" rule.]

Nothin's Worryin' Me...
This morning it's raining so softly as to be mist-like. As I pulled up in the parking lot, this plant caught my eye because the sun sparkled off the droplets on it. I took a *bunch* of pictures of it.
And then of the plants next to it:And then of the grass outside the door:
Who knew water droplets could be so fascinatin'?
