Full Circle?

Last year on St. Patrick's Day we went to the M&M site. This year, it waited until the 28th...

Can't wait until it looks like this.

Without the Soft Winds and Roses...

Cattails in the creek behind work, blowing in the Kansas wind.

(If the title seems mysterious, check this out.)

Caterpillar Joy

I parked next to the trail that this stunning little guy was diligently following. (Amazing that I didn't run him over.)

Nothin's Worryin' Me...

This morning it's raining so softly as to be mist-like. As I pulled up in the parking lot, this plant caught my eye because the sun sparkled off the droplets on it. I took a *bunch* of pictures of it.

And then of the plants next to it:And then of the grass outside the door:
Who knew water droplets could be so fascinatin'?

Again with the Clouds...

(Apologies to the people behind me at the stoplight this morning who had to wait an extra half second while I took this...) ;-)

Nesting

This was on my driveway this morning. No broken eggs or even feathers, just a discarded nest that fell out of the tree--with some newspaper bits in the weaving.

A Little Bit Lonely

Sometimes life feels a lot like this... But definitely a beautiful spring day in Kansas. :o)
And here's a pink satin Jacque ghost...

Purty Weeds...

I've always loved bindweed and dandelions. As a child I just couldn't get the concept of flowers not being a positive...

We Stand Undaunted...

The one tulip that survived the cold weather.

On the way back from lunch it was in shadow, so I came back after work to capture it in the slanted rays.

Spikey

These "spikey" plants caught my eye.

Then I went through these thorns to get to them:

Ouch...

The Dew, It Sparkles

Droplets of water on the grass--the same grass from this post a few weeks ago.

Seated Buddha and Child

I *love* this picture. There's something about this statue that makes you approach it straight on and at the center, seems Conner felt it as well.

Today's adventure included the Nelson and the plaza in KC. As well as Meet the Robinsons in 3-D (highly recommended!).
Petals in a fountain on the plah-zah...

Jacque enjoying the whipped cream that came with our cheesecake, and a pic of Conner where he's *not* making a face! (Never fear, there were faces before and after this one.)

Freshly Washed Green

This is in Topeka, behind a strip mall--just after a lovely spring rain.

And here are Jac's post-nap faces for today:

Bringing May Flowers

I think the truth is that I'm obsessed with clouds, not sunsets or sunrises... These were taken this morning on the way to work.

By 3 o'clock or so things had darkened into a wonderful spring rainstorm (a little thunder, but nothing too spectacular).
After we finally got the magazine put to bed today, I walked away from my desk out the front door. The rain smelled so good--I was simply unable to resist walking out into it. When I left the safety of the front overhang, it was sprinkling some, but by the time I turned the corner of the building it started pouring in earnest. :) So, I've had my first soaking of 2007--it was wonderful (if a bit chilly), and my coworkers were amused.

A Daffodil Day

Today I found the way back to my spring joy. The satisfaction of work well done, and a weekend with friends to look forward to. Daffodils in the parking lot to reflect my friend-joy in living color.

Spring Green

One of the (many) things I love about spring... You're driving down the road (I do that a lot) and one day all the trees are brown, and the next, it's like there's a green mist that's starting to take over. That color *is* spring to me, and this morning I saw the first glimpses of it--strangely, in the convenience store parking lot.

It always brings up a very clear picture of a portion of I-80 in Nebraska for some reason...

And here's what's been ruling my work life for the last couple of months (color proofs of the magazine):
