Something Purple!

As I went over to my soon-to-be daffodils to give them their morning pep talk ("Come on daffy-dills, you can do it!" [Yes, I actually do this.]), what should I notice next to them, but something already blooming! :)
And something just about to be blooming. Don't worry, I cleaned the leaves and stuff out from around them so that they can breathe better.

As if it isn't obvious, I am breathlessly awaiting spring!

Something Green!

There are three clumps just like this down the side of my house. OK, gardener-types, what should I do? Leave the mulchiness to keep them warmer for now, right?

And this is the bullseye pothole from the parking lot. Water has such amazing properties... :o)

Spikey

These "spikey" plants caught my eye.

Then I went through these thorns to get to them:

Ouch...

A Daffodil Day

Today I found the way back to my spring joy. The satisfaction of work well done, and a weekend with friends to look forward to. Daffodils in the parking lot to reflect my friend-joy in living color.

Spring Green

One of the (many) things I love about spring... You're driving down the road (I do that a lot) and one day all the trees are brown, and the next, it's like there's a green mist that's starting to take over. That color *is* spring to me, and this morning I saw the first glimpses of it--strangely, in the convenience store parking lot.

It always brings up a very clear picture of a portion of I-80 in Nebraska for some reason...

And here's what's been ruling my work life for the last couple of months (color proofs of the magazine):

Some Real Woods

We spent some time at the Melees & Mayhem site today. Took a walk into the woods. It reminded me so much of "my woods" on the farm that we played in when I was little.

Have you ever been to a place that just feels right to you? The M&M site was like that for me. I know, I'm strange, but I felt significance in the place for me; the future will be bright there. More photos of our walk (and the parade, and the little Norse outfit I made for Jacque) are available on Khaentlahn's page for today.

When we got back I took Jac to the park:

Later, I let something/someone get me down, and took a little walk to find my happy spring mood. On the way back, these rays of hope hit me.

First Green

Spring always amazes me just a little bit. Yesterday, brown everywhere, today, shoots of green between.
