World War Z Complete Audiobook Cast with Chapter and Character Name

This is a complete departure for this blog, but ... this was frustrating me to no end. I bought this cool audiobook with a great cast. I went to look up the cast members names, but had a heck of a time matching the names to the characters in the book. The cast rocked, Alan Alda, Paul Sorvino, Carl Reiner, Bruce Boxleitner, Jeri Ryan, Henry Rollins, etc. I *knew* that one of them was Nathan Fillion and one was Simon Pegg, and one was Rob Reiner. (I immediately recognized some of those, but Simon Pegg I had no idea.)

Remember this is an audiobook of interviews -- I don't own the paper copy, and I downloaded, so do not even have the CD cover -- the names of the characters are only mentioned once or twice at most. As you listen they become, "The Russian soldier," "the Chinese doctor," stuff like that, and the chapter names are the places the narrator talks to them, not the place the action in the chapter happens (Meteora, Greece, is the chapter that has the Canadian soldier).

So, I made a list that includes the chapter place, the character name, and the voice actor, plus what I called the character in my head and some annotations about each chapter to jog a memory or two. (The ones without parenthetical character names I haven't listened to yet.) I tried not to be spoilery, but there may be some hints in the following...

Thanks! I was searching for this information and beginning to think I'd have to piece it together since nobody else had. I appreciate the time you took to put this together and share it -- I know you had to go to a number of different sources to get it all. It amazes me that none of the various publishers and stores thought to do it. Thanks a million!

I love this audiobook and while I can place some of the actors, I could not place all of them...well done well done indeed!

THIS is exactly what I needed, thank you!

Once I recognised Nathan Fillion's voice I had to know all the others too. Amazing that this information is not readily available, but you have made that problem vanish entirely.

Thanks again!

My only suggestion would be to add track numbers to each of the "interviews". I'd like to go back and listen to individual accounts.

The publishers should pay you a fee for having put this together. Incredibly helpful and very comprehensive list. Not only do I appreciate seeing which actor played whom (I recognized maybe 40%), it's also a great refresher of the entire book, recalling stories that I had somewhat forgotten. (And you're right, I think of them in terms of character types -downed female pilot-, not character names). Well done!!

Thank you for putting together this compilation. I don’t know how complete, or if it matches your cast of characters list, but I later found something similar on Wikipedia. I own the actual original Audiobook CD Box, and this helpful list is nowhere to be found. Like you mention, once you learn how many great artists contributed with their characterizations, one HAS to know who plays whom. Great job!

This is your good buddy from three years in the future, and this is still the only compiled list for this amazing audiobook. I constantly referenced this while listening and it made the experience more enjoyable. Thank you!!
