Coming Full Circle

Nearly a year ago, one of my first photos was a test looking up from my keyboard. When I reached for my phone this morning, this was on the screen. (I had just taken my hair down and it was looking crazier than usual. But the fact that I didn't notice until I saw it on the screen does make me wonder how much of life I see through my hair. ;-) )

When the Human's Home Sick

That's when it's time for puppies to really relax...
What a rough life he leads...

The Prodigal Hat

What was lost, is found! :) Bought this hat (with some cajoling) at the Boulder Handweavers Guild sale a couple of years ago (?!?) now. It's been my favorite ever since. :)

Slippers and Me

These are my new favorite in the house shoes. My bro and sis-in-law got them for me for Christmas, and I'm even wearing them with my new Christmas pajamas my mom made. Yes, Mom, I have worn these in public at least once. (Sheepish grin...)
And sleeplessness photographed:

Dragonfly Cruiseship

My yard is now drowning in these hyooj leaves. (They're not even from one of my trees.)
When I picked one up, I had a flash of the dragonfly boat that Bianca and Bernard ride in The Rescuers, which is, incidentally, the first movie that I remember being *dropped off* to see. My cousin Chris and I went to it at the Cooper in Lincoln (which is now a parking lot, I'm pretty sure). I remember how grown up I felt (I would have been 7). :)

Too Long...

...since I did a self-portrait, so, here's me.
This was supposed to be the not smiling one, but it came out much more sad than I was expecting:
And this is what happens when your cat decides to "help" by coming *through* your hair.

In my Neighborhood, in my Neigh-bor-hoo-ood

No power in my neighborhood this morning because of the storm. Should be back on in "12 to 24 hours." Above is one of the downed limbs on the next block from me.This one is in my yard.A little further down the street.
And I'm now obsessed with the reflection thing...
Tomorrow... my favorite phallic symbol...

Reflections of an Insomniac

Me, reflected in my clock and wishing for sleep.
And then a thunderstorm kicked it up a notch
and my power went out.

Same photos, by candlelight.

Loot

Had yet another of those days where I close the door as the last person leaves my house, and at that moment, I realize that I don't have a photo for the day, yet. So, these are the cast buttons that I won at Cattle Raids last weekend in the Worst/First Garb competition. (I entered the garb I made for an event in ’94.)

Warped

Or, "Jenn gets a little too artsy..." Me through the warp threads of my loom. :)

Experimenting with light on me threads in shadow:
Dunno what the expression is, but the red affect is tres cool:

Deskjob Hands

So, last night I went over to Khaentlahn's and hit her with a stick for about half an hour—of course, she was wearing armor, the whole hitting thing was more of an attempt at getting through her defense, and it was a stick of rattan. :)

I have the hands of someone who runs a computer for a living, I wasn't wearing armor or any sort of protective anything (she wasn't hitting back), the stick I was using was an old sword shaved for a right-hander, and, perhaps, my technique could use some work. :o) So, I have not one, not two, but three blisters. Only one of which got broken while I had sword in hand (and, so far, I've successfully resisted taking a pin to the others). What does it say about me that I'm kinda excited to have a fighting-related injury, insignificant as it is?

Grounded

For Jeanne-Marie: Here's how I touch the earth. (In my favorite new-ish sandals.) :) Try to ignore the bug bites...

And for contrast, here are a couple cloud photos that were impossible to resist later in the evening. (Note the bird in the first.)

Around the House...

Circumstances have made it so I've spent the last couple of nights in Topeka putting stuff up and getting things around. This is Ezmerelda, she guards the place. She was a long ago gift from a friend who thought she looked like me. He added the glasses. :)

Here are a couple of my new happy places (note the daisies):

Check out the strange shelving thing in my bedroom. What to do? I put up family pictures. (On the left, my granddad, my grandmother and me, and my mom; on the right a bunch of family photos, my bros' senior and wedding pics, and my Lily scrolls.)

And, I just love this pic of Lex looking out with her tail curled around her feet. :)

Motion Capture

An afghan in the dryer. Did 10 loads of laundry tonight in preparation for the move. Everything I own is clean . . .

Been awhile since a self photo, so here's me and the sunset reflected in a dryer filled with towels:

New Specs...

Finally, new glasses...

(I've only been working on it since April, which, because of this blog, I can document almost precisely. BTW, this pair is not one of those previously tested. I picked them out by myself, all on my own, etc.—but there is a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. ;-) )

Fuschia Defined

A flower just outside Khaentlahn's house--verrry deep color (and me in my sunflower dress, which I love).

Procrastination

Been falling down on the pictures of me, so here's wynn *not* getting ready for Lilies...

And since I've missed a couple of weeks, here's a photo Rhodri took of me on the way to the Dropkick Murphys concert in March. (Look Mom, I'm wearing lipstick... :o) )

Bitsy Baby

A little over a week ago, one of my coworkers went into premature labor and delivered a baby girl almost 3 months early. Baby Adele was only 2 pounds 5 ounces at birth. We're all thinking positive thoughts about this tiny girl who we've been watching since she looked like a peanut. By all accounts, she's doing very well. This is a photo of one of her "micro-preemie" diapers--sooo small.
