Bow-dacious

Here's my boss again. She's wearing the bow that came on some Vitamin Water schwag that we got today. The enclosed letter began, "dear high powered media person with lots of influential friends." :o)

Carry a Big Stick

If you're going to play in the dirt with a stick, it's important to use a *really* big stick.
"Hi Daddy!"

Loot

Had yet another of those days where I close the door as the last person leaves my house, and at that moment, I realize that I don't have a photo for the day, yet. So, these are the cast buttons that I won at Cattle Raids last weekend in the Worst/First Garb competition. (I entered the garb I made for an event in ’94.)

Where's My Crown?

Jacque all decked out in her pretty purple dress-up dress,
complete with feather boa.
And unable to hold still...

"Are those Barbie shoes?"
"No, I'm a PRINCESS! Where's my crown?!?"

Before and After

Yes, I let it get this bad. My mower is currently in the shop, but, thanks to Khaentlahn and KC, I got the thing mowed.

The Road from Home

These were taken at the end of the lane on the farm looking out toward the north and toward town.

I also had some food with Gillie and Kora (friends who are going far away):

(Looks like Luther snuck in there as well...)

Tastes Like Chicken

Today was Cattle Raids in Mag Mor. Sashatec had his laurelling ceremony, and some of his guards (Thedrich [above] and Glumpai) were dressed as Polish Hussars. (More info here.)

Other highlights of the event:
Jordan is used to the armor. She actually ran up to her dad and hugged him before he even got his helmet off. :)

It was just a glorious day all the way around.

Not So Bitsy

This is Adele. She's my coworker's baby that was born way too early. She's been home since a little after her due date (which was Aug. 10-ish), and is doing great. She was born at 2 pounds 5 ounces, and she's up around 9 pounds now. She's still on a monitor, but to me she is a little miracle.

And here's the gaggle of people fawning over her before she made it back to our area for the above picture:

Today is "Bad Poetry Day" here at the office. This is my boss, wearing a couple of the prizes and doing her Napoleon Bonaparte impression. And this is our editorial assistant, wearing Harry Potter glasses:
My workplace is special. :o)

Got Wood?

I do. :) Just after my dad finished giving me a lecture about how I needed to get the boxes out of my garage so that my car would fit in it... Khaentlahn called and said that there was something they had that didn't fit in her or Kyle's garage, could they bring it over. I said, "Sure." "Great, can we bring it over?" "Now? My parents are here." "OK. Can we bring it over?" :) So, now I have wood. A lot of wood. In my garage. :o)

And here's a bonus experiment with fire...

If Wynn Had a Lawn...

And there had been heat warnings or garb making or whatever to use as an excuse.

Sunday morning a couple of little boys came by with a lawnmower and knocked on my door, but Juliana and I were sitting around in our nighties (the pillow fights had just ended ;-) ) and didn't make it to the door in time... *sigh* But my parents are coming tonight, so, that may be enough of a motivator.

Frog Fingers

Jacque's impressions of a poison arrow frog.

Which one to eat first?

All 10 fingers...
A little help from the positive influences in her life:
What concentration:What is it with this group and wearing food? ;-)

For Tristan...

What we did on Saturday. A gothic fitted dress for Isolda (on the left). Juliana (on the right) came down and helped out. :)

We had a whole bunch of fun.

Better Living?

One of my coworkers walked by and asked if I was starting a pharmacy... So I had to get a picture. ;-) I now have drugs to counteract the reaction that I got to drugs. *sigh* I'm still pink all over, but I'm less itchy... (The foil pack has nothing to do with BCPs--that's cortisone to try and lessen the allergic reaction--which is getting worse as time goes on and not better.)

Further Adventures in Itchy +

For reference, this is what your skin looks like when you have an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. (All of your skin.)

And here's the "lucky little girl" (as our waiter called her) trying to figure out how to eat a sundae that's almost bigger than her... (I think with the window behind her these could be a Blind Tiger ad.)

Adventures in Electricity

So, last night, I was doing dishes, and my refrigerator was on. I put something in the microwave for supper and walked away. About 10 minutes later, I walked back into the kitchen, and all was quiet. Which was strange because I have one of those microwaves that hollers at you until you open it (after the timer beeps, it keeps beeping at intervals, well, you get the picture). I'd blown a fuse. (A fuse which has the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the disposal, and every outlet in the kitchen on it. *sigh*)

After searching the entire house (inside all the closets and cabinets, under things, behind everything, in the garage, etc.) and finding only a small door that was securely screwed shut (securely = I stood on a chair and braced myself against the wall with my foot and I still couldn't get the screw out), I finally called the landlord and asked if he knew where the fusebox was. (My refrigerator was on the fuse and the dishwasher was full of water, or I would have waited until today.) He was pretty frustrated with me and told me to walk here and walk there and that there shouldn't be room for screws in the panel unless they drilled it (which I told him they had), "You're probably trying to screw off the entire panel." I am not a moron.

Finally, after he grudgingly agreed to send someone out. I walked around the outside of the house, and--there's a panel on the back wall of the garage, on the OUTSIDE of the garage. Once I found the thing the breaker was flipped and the dishwashing resumed in just a few moments. I took the picture above last night, and the one below this morning to show. Don't worry, there will be a padlock on it by nightfall. ;-)

Sick Kit

After the trip to the walk-in doctor,
this was my must-have list for a sick wynn.
(Plus several DVDs...)
